How Chevy Is Making It Harder To Steal A Vehicle

How Chevy Is Making It Harder To Steal A Vehicle

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - GM has recently announced how Chevy is making it harder to steal a vehicle with the new Theft Alarm Notification feature on its OnStar Stolen Vehicle Assistance program. The new service will be available to eligible subscribers later this summer, and will help prompt a swift response from OnStar advisors and local authorities whenever a vehicle is stolen or broken into.

This new extension of the Stolen Vehicle Assistance feature is only the most recent in a series of new updates to the system that include Remote Ignition Block and Stolen Vehicle Slowdown. With the new Theft Alarm Notification, subscribers can choose to receive alerts via SMS test, email or by phone if a theft attempt triggers their vehicle's alarm system and the alarm sounds.

This new technology is currently an OnStar and Chevy specialized feature, and it is so exciting to see how Chevy is making it harder to steal a vehicle. The system is backed by glass breakage sensors, interior motion sensors and an inclination/tilt sensor, which will sound an alarm if the vehicle is lifted up off the ground, a break-in is attempted or if motion is detected within the vehicle when the system is armed.

Chevy is always breaking the mold with innovative features, and the Theft Alarm Notification feature will be sure to deter auto theft in the next few years. Dodge Unleashed The Hemi-Powered Challenger Drag Pak To The Masses

Dodge Unleashes A Hemi-Powered Challenger Drag Pack To The Masses

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - Earlier this year, Dodge released the all new Challenger Hellcat and the Charger Hellcat to the delight of a patiently waiting public. The Challengers can partially thank their popularity to the Furious 7 film, which is one of the highest grossing films in history, grossing $1.3 billion since its release in April. Now, drivers can be more like their favorite Fast and Furious stars since Dodge unleashed a hemi-powered Challenger Drag Pak to the masses!

The Dodge Challenger Drag Pak is a race-prepped version of Dodge's two-door muscle car that is built specifically for drag racing. Let the burnouts begin! The Challenger is a vehicle that is steeped in racing history and lore. The dominating muscle cars of the 1960s and 19702 made their reputations not just with an unmatched power and timeless styling, but also with dominance on the track. Now the Challenger is back to claim its top-spot and seek glory in the racing world.

Racers can choose between two different V8 Hemi engines. The 354-cubic-inch supercharged V8 features the same displacement as the first production HEMI, whereas the naturally aspirated 426-ci version recalls the now-classic motor used in numerous Chrysler Corporation race and road vehicles from the '60s. Both of the engines are powered by a racing-tuned automatic transmission, and the Drag Pak includes multiple chassis upgrades such as bulked up suspension and brakes, 15-inch lightweight wheels and Hoosier drag radials.

The Drag Pak is designed to compete in National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-sanctioned drag races in the Sportman category, and we cannot WAIT to see it tearing up the track now that Dodge unleashed the Hemi-powered Challenger Drag Pak to the masses! If you feel like you would like to give either the Dodge Challenger or Dodge Charger a try, stop by your Norfolk Area Dodge Dealer for a test drive today! Perry Auto Group has two dealership locations to serve you better at 1005 W. General Motors Reveals The New 2016 Chevy Cruze

General Motors Reveals The New 2016 Chevy Cruze

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - Last night the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was revealed to a crowd of auto-insiders, press and writers at the Fillmore Theater in Downtown Detroit. General Motors reveals the new 2016 Chevy Cruze is longer, lighter and gets 40 mpg from its 1.4-liter, four-cylinder Ecotec turbo engine. The 2016 Cruze will pull into dealerships in the spring of next year, and is currently the fifth newly designed model that Chevrolet has released this year. The goal for Chevy is restoring that reputation of ingenuity and excitement the brand had in 1950s and '60s.

Since the beginning of the year, Chevrolet has unveiled redesigns for Volt, Camaro, Malibu and the Spark, and the reveal of the all-new 2016 Cruze was just as successful as the earlier models. GM CEO Mary Barra was on hand and took the cover off of the new Cruze Wednesday night to the delight of those in attendance.

General Motors reveals that the new 2016 Chevy Cruze will weigh in at about 250 pounds less than the '15 model, accomplished through a retooled aluminum engine block. This block is made by press-hardened steel, which is a process of heating steal blanks until they become malleable. Bumper-to-bumper, the new Cruze is lengthened by 2.7 inches, which gives 2 more inched of legroom in the rear-seat.

As with it's other Chevrolet models, GM infuses the new Cruze with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, which customers have the option of purchasing. A modern style theme, similar to that of the new Impala and Malibu, gives the Cruze a more premium look which John Cafaro, Executive Director of Chevrolet Design, says is and example of craftsmanship, content, quality and a fresh interpretation on an unmistakable Chevy identity.

It will be an exciting day when the 2016 Chevy Cruze rolls into our dealership– we cannot WAIT to see it! If you would like to check out any of the other brand new Chevy models released this year, stop by! Perry Auto Group has two dealership locations to serve you better at 1005 W. The 2016 Chevy Volt Could Get 43 MPG And A 106MPGe

The 2016 Chevy Volt Could Get 43 MPG And A 106MPGe

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - General Motors has not been cheap when it comes to the amount of news the automotive company has been releasing in regards to the 2016 Chevy Volt. This includes a lower price ($33,995 which is $1,175 cheaper than the 2015 model) and specifications on the upgraded Voltec drivetrain. However one thing Volt enthusiasts have been anxious about is the official EPA MPG and MPGe numbers. After digging around, we might have found out that those official numbers might be higher than originally anticipated.

After searching through the GM-Volt forum, it was noticed that under fuel economy, the numbers were changed from 41 MPG as quoted by GM to 43 MPG. This in turn brings the MPGe ratings (using combined electric driving range and gas engine) all the way up to 106 MPGe, compared to the 37 MPG and 98 MPGe for the current 2015 Volt.  Although this is not necessarily set in stone, it is so exciting that the 2016 Chevy Volt could get 43 MPG and a 106MPGe! It looks like the total driving range has gone from 420 miles to 430, then back down to 420 miles.

GM does not plan to release the official fuel economy numbers until sometime next month, even though you can make a deposit to GM to reserve your 2016 Volt in early adopter states like California. Just the fact that the 2016 Chevy Volt could get 43 MPG and a 106MPGe, is thrilling to say the least! You can bet, however, that Perry Auto Group will have all the latest news and updates regarding the 2016 Chevy Volt, and you could always stop by and take a test drive in our current 2015 modelsPerry Auto Group has two dealership locations to serve you better at 1005 W. Ram Dives Head First Into The Luxury Truck Pool

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - In the world of luxury trucks there are few, but Ram dives head first into the luxury truck pool with the Ram Rebel and the Laramie. The demand for pick-up trucks with the interior of a luxury SUV is interestingly on the rise, and Ram is definitely taking the challenge head on. Both of the truck models are priced understandably high at over $50,000, but it makes sense when all of the features are considered.

Let's start with the Ram Rebel (we have to admit, we're OBSESSED with the name!), which is a workhorse that's been completely optimized to do well on less-than-friendly terrain. Upgrades include a factory lift, skid plates and tow hooks over the stock Ram 1500, plus the name "RAM" has been emphasized and embossed at every available opportunity. The Rebel's main competition includes the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and Ford's F-150 Raptor.

Ram Dives Head First Into The Luxury Truck Pool

The Laramie comes equipped with a 5.7 liter V8 rear-wheel drive, and will have a starting base cost of just over $51,000. Ram indeed highlights the fact that the new Laramie Limited is more geared for well-heeled suburban chrome enthusiasts than cattle famers who would use the truck for actual "truck" work. However, this is a rapidly growing segment. Many people want to have the look and attitude of a pick-up truck, but the luxury of a first class suburban-like car. The premium feature list is long, and includes things such as all-black leather seating, real wood interior components and unique badges. When all is said and done, the Laramie could potentially run anyone just over $57,000 with the diesel and 4x4, before the pick-and-choose options are applied.

Ram Dives Head First Into The Luxury Truck Pool

Ram dives head first into the luxury truck pool, and is not alone as it joins with Ford Motor Co. as the the only automaker with a full-size truck that doesn't offer a midsize alongside it. You can bet that Perry Auto is your spot for all of the Ram truck models! Feel free to stop and take one out for a test drive today! Perry Auto Group has two dealership locations to serve you better at 1005 W.
