2013 Dart Hits the Bull’s-eye with $15,995 MSRP

New 2013 Dart Hits the Bull’s-eye with $15,995 MSRP
Combining Italian bloodlines with an all-American approach to innovation, the 2013 Dodge Dart will offer one of the lowest starting prices in its segment when it goes on sale in June: With a base MSRP of under $16,000, the Dart will be less expensive than rivals from Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Toyota and even Hyundai. But keep in mind, the Dart delivers value—not compromises—at that price level.
The starting point of the 2013 Dart lineup is the Dart SE ($15,995), with features that include:
  • A new 2.0-liter Tigershark I-4 engine that delivers a best-in-class 160 hp
  • Either a standard six-speed manual or available six-speed automatic transmission
  • Safety measures like 10 airbags, four-wheel disc antilock brakes, brake assist, electronic stability control, and traction control
  • Projector headlamps and LED taillamps
  • A laminated windshield
  • A soft-touch instrument panel with bright accents
  • A six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat with height adjustment
  • Upscale “Denim” cloth seats
  • An AM/FM/CD/MP3 sound system
  • A 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty
Building on that foundation, the Dart SXT opens at $17,995 and adds:
  • 17-inch aluminum wheels
  • Power-adjustable body-colored mirrors and door locks
  • Remote keyless entry and a security alarm
  • A six-speaker audio setup
  • 60/40 split folding rear seats
  • Air conditioning with a micron filter
Those interested in adding a more aggressive appearance—and increased performance—can choose the Dart Rallye. With a base price of $18,995, the Rallye supplies:
  • Custom-look front and rear “performance” fascias with black accents and headlamp bezels up front
  • Projector fog lamps
  • A class-exclusive integrated dual-exhaust system with brightly accented tips
  • A leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls
  • Cruise control
  • An available engine upgrade to the 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo, which delivers the same horsepower as the standard engine but tacks on 24 percent more torque for a total of 184 lb.-ft.
For an upscale compact filled with the latest technologies, Dodge will deploy the Dart Limited, starting at $19,995 and including standard content like:
  • The award-winning Uconnect in-car infotainment/connectivity system, with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and rearview backup camera
  • A class-exclusive 7-inch reconfigurable instrument cluster display with thin-film transistor (TFT) technology
  • Automatic headlamps
  • Active grille shutter
  • Premium interior stitching
  • A 10-way power-adjustable driver seat
A wealth of options are available as well on the Dart Limited, from a Garmin navigation unit to heated front seats to a rear cross-path detection system that can warn of unexpected obstacles behind the vehicle when in reverse.
For the ultimate in Dart performance, drivers can select the Dart R/T, which holsters a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine that supplies 184 hp and 171 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is then channeled through either a six-speed manual transmission or an available six-speed AutoStick automatic. Also in the mix with the Dart R/T and its $22,495 base sticker price:
  • 18-inch aluminum wheels
  • A performance-tuned suspension with frequency-sensing dampers
  • Automatic dual-zone temperature control
  • Premium heated seats in perforated Nappa leather
  • A class-exclusive heated steering wheel
  • Unique appearance enhancements such as a performance front fascia with black accents and Hyper Black grille, as well as black headlamp bezels and an integrated, bright-tipped dual exhaust
“The all-new Dodge Dart is a groundbreaking car, offering features and benefits never before found in a compact car,” said Reid Bigland, president and CEO, Dodge Brand. “With class-leading style, customization, safety, technology, and interior levels of roominess, the all-new Dart perfectly blends Alfa Romeo DNA and Dodge passion and style into one all-new car that customers will be proud to own and look forward to driving.”
The 2013 Dodge Dart is slated to arrive in June, with the R/T model scheduled for introduction in the third quarter.
