For the Chevy Man

If Dad has a Chevy, then you have Father’s Day in the bag. Chevrolet is part of Americana, and there are so many delightful ways to indulge. There are websites that specialize in Chevy memorabilia, and it is a safe bet you will find his heart’s desire in one of them. From the practical to the fantastic, there is no shortage of choices. One of the best things about settling on Chevy memorabilia as a gift is that you never run out of ideas.
Retroplant.com has pages of everyday items made special by celebrating Chevy. To begin with, there are signs galore. If Dad has a “man cave,” what better way to mark his territory than with a Chevy sign, or two, or three. There are even neon signs, and what about an old fashioned, wall-mounted bottle opener. There are plenty of clocks with your favorite car on the face, or you can spring for a 3-dimensional shelf of the front or rear bumper of a Corvette or a 1957 Chevy Bel Air – a classic car if there ever was one. You can also select a napkin holder with a matching salt and pepper shaker or a paper towel holder. Of course, there is a selection of die-cast models, as well.
Cafe Press has pages of Chevy collectibles. If T-shirts are your thing, you can get one for everyone in the family, but you might want to get an extra for Dad on his day. You will also find other useful things like mugs, calendars, mouse pads, and hats, hats, hats.
You will have a lot of buying to do to catch up with Charlie Mallon. He has been collecting Chevrolet memorabilia for four decades. He is working on capturing the world record for the largest collection. As you might imagine, his favorite car is the Corvette, and he has his own 2005 model.
If seeing the real thing appeals to you, you might consider taking him on a trip to the Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum in Decatur, Illinois. The showroom size floor is filled with class Chevrolets. It would be easy to spend the day drooling over each and every piece of art.
On the way, you might want to stop at Bob & Pam Boarman’s Chevy Bel Air Museum in Shelbyville, Illinois. The Chevy Bel Air is the classic car. Here you will see car after car, each one more glorious than the last.
There is no end to the ways you can celebrate Dad and Chevrolet. It is a great way to share something that matters to you both. After all, a Chevy is not just a car – it is a way of life.
Ellie Sanderfield is a stay-at-home mom and blogger for KeyInsuranceQuotes. Thankfully, she is not alone. She, her husband, and their two children all drive Chevrolets – always have and always will.
