Chrysler Brings Dodge Journey Production to US

Chrysler Brings Dodge Journey Production to US
ELIZABETH CITY, NC- On the heels of a Memorial Day weekend filled with patriotic celebrations, we've just received word that Chrysler is bringing more of its production to the U.S.! According to a report published by WardsAuto/AutomotiveCompass, Chrysler plans to move production of the next-generation Dodge Journey from Toluca, Mexico to Sterling Heights, MI, the same plant where the next-gen Chrysler 200 sedan will also be built!

Both the new Dodge Journey and new Chrysler 200 will be built on the same platform that Chrysler shares with Fiat's Alfa Romeo Giulietta. If all goes as planned, the redesigned Chrysler 200 is set to go on sale next year. However, the next generation Dodge Journey won't go into production until January 2016.

Although Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson declined to comment, it's great news that Chrysler is bringing Dodge Journey Production to the U.S. However, it is rumored that the automaker will discontinue production of the Dodge Avenger, which is currently built in Sterling Heights.
