2014 Chevrolet Impala when the redesigned car made its debut, but now our opinions are also being supported by Consumer Reports! The 2014 Chevy Impala has received an excellent Consumer Reports rating, taking the magazine's top spot for all sedans!
After hitting showrooms in April, the 2014 Chevy Impala received an excellent Consumer Reports rating by scoring 95 out of 100 points in the magazine's testing, beating out German and Japanese cars for the first time in 20 years! Only two vehicles earned higher scores than the Impala--the electric Tesla Model S, starting at $62,400, and the BMW 135i coupe which starts at $39,300. In comparison, the 2014 Impala starts at under $27,000.
So what earned the Chevrolet Impala such a high Consumer Reports score? Testers were surprised by the car's ride, agility, braking, high-quality materials and quiet, roomy cabin, which helped the vehicle earn a score than was 32 points higher than the previous generation Impala. The magazine's director of auto testing stated that overall, the vehicle was not lacking in any areas and actually out performed may luxury vehicles. As a bonus, the Impala's interior controls and electronics are very easy to use.
