Chrysler Announces New Midsize Car For 2014
The automaker plans to release a completely new midsize vehicle in the first quarter of next year that will replace the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. Built at Chrysler's factory in Sterling Heights, MI, where the 200 and Avenger are currently built, the new car will most likely feature components that were jointly designed with Italian automaker Fiat SpA.
Very few details about Chrysler's new midsize car were revealed, but it's clear that in order to compete in the U.S. auto market, Chrysler will need to replace the aging 200 and Avenger which were both released in 2006 and only received one update three years ago. While buyers pay less for these vehicles, Chrysler hopes to produce a new midsize car that will better compete with the vehicles on the market.
