2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Received NHTSA Five Star Safety Rating

ELIZABETH CITY, NC. -  GM proudly announced that the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 received NHTSA five star safety rating, the highest possibly safety rating.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tested the Silverado Crew Cab as it will account for 60 percent of its 2014 light duty full-size pickup sales. There are a number of features that help the 2014 Silverado earn the five star safety rating from the NHTSA, such as:

• Six standard air bags, including dual stage frontal air bads, head-curtain side impact air bags with rollover protection, and seat mounted side-impact air bags.
• Forward Collision Alert which will alert the driver when the Silverado is approaching another vehicle
• Lane Departure Warning which will alert the driver when the truck drifts into another lane
• Safety Seat Alert which will alert the driver by seat vibration

These safety features along with other new features on the Silverado is why the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 received the NHTSA five star safety rating.
