Dodge Is Planning On Bringing Back The Viper ACR

ELIZABETH CITY, NC – If you are a fan snakes, well the kind with four wheels anyway, listen up! It has been confirmed today that Dodge is planning on bringing back the Viper ACR, and the auto company will make it THE FASTEST Viper on the track when it goes on sale this fall! In other words, the Viper is back baby! Dodge CEO and President Tim Kuniskis said earlier this morning that the 2016 Viper ACR will be "the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever" Exact performance specifications however, have not been released at this time.

Dodge is planning on bringing back the Viper ACR, which was introduced for the 1999 model year, and was last produced for the 2010 model year. The company also creates non-street legal versions of the ACR specifically for racing only. The top speed of the new Viper ACR is 177 m.p.h, which is in fact LESS than the Dodge SRT Viper at 204 m.p.h, but officials at Dodge say the aerodynamics and powerful brakes, allow the car to complete a lap on the track faster than any other Viper.

This exciting decision to bring back the ACR is one of several actions that Kuniskis has done to gain publicity for the Viper and generate a renewed interest in the Viper brand. Kuniskis also stated that pricing for the Viper ACR will be released in the coming weeks. There has been a surge of performance car news recently as the economy starts to improve and consumer's feel more inclined to treat themselves. Both Ford and Chevrolet have sports car models slated to be released soon, it was only a matter of time before Dodge jumped on the bandwagon as well!
